City Of Maplewood issued the following announcement on Aug. 19.
Each fall students head to school without the supplies they need for success. Please help us fill the gap and ensure young people are set to learn, grow, and thrive!
We’re hoping to have 100 loaded backpacks for the students. This is a joint effort among the City of Maplewood, Maplewood Public Safety and the Maplewood YMCA Community Center.
Donate any amount, but here’s an idea of what key items costs:
- $58: average school supply set, including a backpack.
- $29: partial backpack
- $16: crayons, markers color pencil set & pouch
burden on families, schools and communities to provide necessary school supplies.
