The City of Roseville has felt the impact of the highest property crime rate, which is 4,983.5 per 100,000 people.

Those rates are among the cities with populations that have 20,000 and over within the State of Minnesota, according to an analysis by 24/7 Wall St.

The analysis states that 1,829 property crimes were recorded in 2018. These crimes included 176 burglaries and 86 vehicle thefts. Meanwhile, the homeless and the poverty rates in the city at that time were at 9.7%.

Experts say that these crimes are committed in an effort to gain money or other interests. Additionally, cities with higher crime rates often have high poverty rates. Moreover, these crime rates and poverty rates often surpass the poverty rate of 14.1% as a whole.

About 7.2 million property crimes were said to be committed nationwide in 2018. When the numbers are broke down, the rates add up to 2,199.5 property crimes per 100,000 people, the analysis found.
