Mounds View Public School District students performance on MCA and MTAS in 2021-22 school year?

Mounds View Public School District ranked first in the Ramsey County for test participation, with 17,106 students taking the Reading portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of Mounds View Public School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year rose by 37.4% over the previous year.

Mounds View Public School District's students achieved an average Reading proficiency rate of 60% in 2021-22 school year.

10th-grade students stood out with 33% of them exceeding standards in Reading, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, third grade students had the most room for improvement, with 32% not meeting the expected standards.

Mounds View Public School District encompasses schools within Ramsey County and has a main office in Shoreview.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.

Minnesota Department of Education issues could lead to data irregularities.
