How did St. Anthony-New Brighton School District students do on 2021-22 MCA and MTAS Reading tests?

St. Anthony-New Brighton School District ranked 14th in the Hennepin County for test participation, with 855 students taking the Reading portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of St. Anthony-New Brighton School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year rose by 28.4% over the previous year.

St. Anthony-New Brighton School District's students achieved an average Reading proficiency rate of 58% in 2021-22 school year.

Fifth grade students stood out with 25% of them exceeding standards in Reading, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, eighth grade students had the most room for improvement, with 33% not meeting the expected standards.

St. Anthony-New Brighton School District encompasses schools within Hennepin County and has a main office in Saint Anthony.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.

Minnesota Department of Education issues could lead to data irregularities.
