Pakou Chang, a social worker with Mothers First, and Dawood Sultani, a Service Center Navigator, were presented with employee achievement awards during the Dec. 13 board meeting.

As a social worker working with people who are pregnant, Pakou focuses on teaching life skills and relapse prevention. At her team’s weekly meeting, Pakou regularly receives praise for her work. She is known as someone who goes above and beyond not only for her clients, but to help her colleagues as well. She is very knowledgeable and has worked to improve accountability and expand her team’s knowledge of substance use disorders. Pakou is known as someone who embodies Ramsey County’s values and is very dedicated to her clients working non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends to help them overcome barriers.

Dawood has been an integral part of supporting the Ramsey County Service Centers as part of the response needed in supporting Ramsey County residents. Working in customer service is a natural fit for him, where he welcomes residents and helps them access the county services they need. Dawood is very culturally sensitive, cautious and respectful. He speaks three languages and makes himself available to interpret. He is known for being kind, compassionate and thoughtful.
