Winter warming spaces now open in Saint Paul

In preparation for the coldest winter months, Ramsey County has opened three warming spaces in Saint Paul for residents living without permanent housing. Through the end of February 2023, the following locations will be open every night from 9:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.:

  • Union Gospel Mission, 435 University Ave E.
  • Phalen Activity Center, 1530 Phalen Dr.
  • Newell Park Building, 900 Fairview Ave N. (for youth and families)
Warming gear, like hats and gloves, light snacks and hot beverages will be provided as well as transportation to the warming spaces. The free shuttle service will run from 9 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. every night.

Ramsey County housing services and support staff will be answering calls and emails from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. to help refer people to available warming spaces or extra shelter beds.
