CITY OF ARDEN HILLS: Ice Rinks Open for the Season

City of Arden Hills issued the following announcement on Dec. 30.

Sharpen your skates! Ice rinks in Cummings, Freeway, Hazelnut, and Perry parks will be officially open for use, with rink attendants on duty, starting Saturday, January 2.

Warming houses will be closed to the public due to COVID-19 safety regulations.

Rink flooding will continue as needed. Rinks will be closed if the temperature is -20 degrees Fahrenheit, and/or the wind chill is -20 degrees Fahrenheit. Call the weather line at 651-792-7841 to receive an update on any possible closures.

The City of Arden Hills has four outdoor skating rinks: 

  • Freeway Park—1370 West County Road E / at Highway 51   
  • Hazelnut Park—3301 New Brighton Road
  • Perry Park (hockey rink ONLY)—3700 New Brighton Road
  • Cummings Park (pleasure rink ONLY)—1219 Cummings Park Drive
Cummings will only have a rink attendant on duty Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Cummings Park has a push light system available during the week for open skating; the light will automatically turn off at 10 p.m.
