City OF Arden Hills issued the following announcement on Dec. 5.
A new COVID-19 testing site at the Victory Links Golf Course in Blaine will offer free drive-through swab testing for Minnesotans. Testing at this site will be available December 7 through December 12. Appointments are strongly encouraged, but not required.
This testing event is part of a federal effort to provide temporary federal support in areas that have seen a recent spike in COVID-19 cases. At the latest count, Minnesota has recorded more than 4,000 deaths due to COVID-19 since the pandemic began earlier this year. The recent uptick in cases equates to less than a month to add 1,000 deaths to the toll; it took three months for the same amount of deaths to accumulate over the summer and almost two months for same amount during the fall.
Testing is open to anyone who believes they need a COVID-19 test, with or without insurance. State guidance on who should get tested was recently updated and can be found on the Minnesota COVID-19 Response webpage, Who Should Get Tested?. Additional testing sites in Ramsey County can be found here.
