The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) is urging Minnesotans to buy and consume locally over the holidays as Minnesota prepares for phase two of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Officials said by doing business locally, residents can help their favorite local eateries and other establishments by ordering takeout and curbside.
Eating locally is a simple way to support vital businesses while having a tasty meal at home. This will help businesses weather the repercussions of the coronavirus pandemic.
“The best way to help your local restaurants weather this time is by ordering takeout whenever you can,” said DEED Commissioner Steve Grove in a press release. “They need our support now more than ever.”
Hospitality Minnesota President and CEO Liz Rammer said that hospitality businesses have been delivering happy memories to friends and families for many years and they need support.
“Help return the favor by supporting them with your takeout order today,” Rammer said.
