City Of Arden Hills issued the following announcement on Oct. 21.
Last night, (October 20, 2020) the State experienced record high snowfall, and with it came power outages across Arden Hills. Xcel Energy is responsible for maintaining the City’s power grid, and when residents experience an outage they should contact Xcel to assist in resolving the issue. If your neighborhood experiences frequent issues, Xcel should be notified so they can assess if there is a larger problem occurring. The winter storm yesterday affected 33,500 people statewide, with the main cause being trees coming into contact with power lines and the second leading cause being vehicles sliding off the road into power poles. In Arden Hills, a tree branch came into contact with power lines affecting 1,800 customers. Most of the issues have been resolved and power has been restored.
