City of Shoreview issued the following announcement on Oct. 14.
The city council is now accepting applications for five citizen groups. These groups share experiences and expertise and provide valuable input to the city.
- Bikeways and trails committee
- Provides guidance on the development of bikeways, trails, and other means of transportation
- Meets first Thursday of each month at 7 pm
- Term: February 2021 - January 2024
- Economic development authority
- Supports existing businesses,
- Fosters reinvestment in residential neighborhoods and commercial areas
- Promotes the creation of new business, employment and housing opportunities
- Meets first Monday of each month at 5 pm
- Term: January 2021 - December 2026
- Environmental quality committee
- Provides recommendations on environment, water quality, and solid waste issues
- Meets fourth Monday of each month at 6:30 pm
- Term: Through January 2023
- Parks and recreation commission
- Advises on park and recreation matters
- Meets fourth Monday of each month at 7 pm
- Term: February 2021 - January 2024
- Planning commission
- Prepares and reviews the city’s comprehensive plan
- Adopts and enforces controls to implement the city’s plans
- Reviews and makes recommendations on development applications
- Meets fourth Tuesday of each month at 7 pm
- Term: February 2021 - January 2024
