RAMSEY COUNTY: Absentee Voting Opens Sept. 18 For General Election

Ramsey County issued the following announcement on Sept. 17.

Ramsey County voters may vote before Election Day by using an absentee ballot in advance of the general election on Tuesday, Nov. 3. Residents can cast their ballot by mail or in person beginning Friday, Sept. 18 through Monday, Nov. 2.

All voters can vote early in Minnesota. You do not need to provide a reason.

Vote by mail

Voting by mail is safe, easy and convenient.

Once your request is received, a ballot will be mailed to you along with a pre-paid, pre-addressed envelope for returning the completed ballot materials. You may also return the completed ballot in person to one of several ballot return sites located across the county.

Vote in person

In-person absentee voting is available at three locations. Eligible voters may visit any location, regardless of their home address. Locations include:

All locations will be open the following hours:

  • Weekdays Sept. 18 – Oct. 30: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
  • Saturday, Oct. 31: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
  • Monday, Nov. 2: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
The absentee in-person voting site at the Ramsey County Elections Office – Plato Building will open at 8 a.m. and close at 4:30 p.m. on weekdays.

Voter registration

Eligible residents may register to vote or update their address online at mnvotes.org through Oct. 13.

Residents may also register when they vote at the three in-person absentee voting locations or at their polling place on Election Day. Proof of residence is required for in-person registration. A list of approved documentation and sample ballots are available at mnvotes.org.
