Minnesota has received $18.54 billion in federal COVID-19 relief aid as of May 19.
According to The Center Square, the relief given to Minnesota is the 36th highest when compared to all 50 states. According to an analysis by 24/7 Wall St., that is relative to the number of conformed COVID-19 cases.
Minnesota received the federal funding per COVID-19 case, which was over $1,088,796. The joblessness rate was also a factor. Minnesota jobless claims since March reached $29,261, according to a report obtained by The Center Square.
24/7 Wall St. reports that as of mid-March, unemployment claims reached 20.5% of the total workforce. Confirmed coronavirus cases in Minnesota reached 303 for every 100,000 citizens in the state.
The report also reveals that Congress approved more than $3 trillion in coronavirus relief funding. The approved funds were distributed to citizens, small businesses, local governments to help the country stay afloat.
However, the distribution method of the funds often differed from state to state.
