New Brighton home prices rise in the second half of 2018

The median sale price of a home sold in the second half of 2018 in New Brighton rose by $23,650 while total sales decreased by 2.3%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through December of 2018, there were 128 homes sold, with a median sale price of $266,000 - a 9.8% increase over the $242,350 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 131 homes sold in New Brighton in the second half of 2017.

The median sales tax in New Brighton for 2018 was $3,317. In 2017, the median sales tax was $3,078. This marks an increase of 7.8%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 1.2%.
