Minnesota gets a boost in the battle against the coronavirus after the Senate voted to pass a bill for an additional $21 million.
The bill is expected to reach Gov. Tim Walz this week, according to MSN.
“They’re working in a totally nonpartisan manner, trying to work out a few technical details, but I think you’ll see it this week,” Walz told MSN.
Sen. Jerry Relph said this is how the government should work.
The bill sees the addition of $20.9 million to the already $4.9 million. The new money will be allocated to testing, staff costs and protective equipment.
Minnesota has two confirmed COVID-19 cases.
“We expect more cases, but we are going to be able to navigate through it if people just follow the guidelines that they do for the flu," Republic Senate Majority Leader Paul Gazelka said.
