North Memorial Health issued the following announcement on March 5
Get ready to spring forward! Daylight saving time begins at 2 a.m. on March 8th (this Sunday!) and we move our clocks ahead one hour. On the plus side, we get longer evenings and more natural daylight. But on the other hand, in addition to having to adjust every clock in the house, the time change can disrupt your body’s internal clock. And even though it’s just an hour, it can have a big impact on all of us - especially kids!
4 tips to help your body adjust:
1. Prepare a few days early by going to bed 15-30 minutes earlier than usual.
2. Stick to your schedule and be consistent with eating, social, bed and exercise times.
3. Avoid long naps. If you have to take one, do it early and for no longer than 20 minutes.
4. Don’t drink caffeinated beverages four to six hours before bedtime and avoid alcohol late at night.
