The Senate Capital Investment Committee wrapped up the final leg of a tour focusing on infrastructure that took them to see projects in every region.

The metro leg of the #MNfrastructure Tour took committee members, including Sen. John Jasinski to Stillwater, Plymouth, St. Paul and the University of Minnesota. Bridge rebuilds, colleges, economic development proposals and services for at-risk individuals were just a few of the locations that the committee toured.

In a Feb. 4 release from the Minnesota Senate Republicans Caucus, Jasinksi outlined a few of those projects, particularly in the higher education sector, and asked for the public to reach out to him via email.

At the University of Minnesota, they went to the Institute for Child Development, where there’s not enough space for students to conduct research. Chemistry labs in Smith Hall haven’t been updated since the 1930s. They also toured the Agriculture and Health Lab, where researchers test infectious diseases and hazardous materials, and need improvements throughout the building to be safe.

He asked for public input on these projects or others under consideration to be sent to him at Sen.John.Jasinski@Senate.mn.
