Sponsored by Ramsey/Washington Recycling & Energy in partnership with Minnesota Waste Wise, the Business Pollution Prevention Program helps businesses reduce the use of harmful chemicals, transition to safer, more sustainable chemicals, and install high-efficiency equipment.

Businesses in Ramsey and Washington counties can get up to $50,000 (or 75% of project costs) to help reduce employee, community and environmental health risks associated with the following:

  • Chemicals with volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
  • Perchloroethylene (PERC).
  • Trichloroethylene (TCE).
  • Ground level ozone.
  • Fine particulate matter (PM2.5).
  • Hazardous air pollutants (HAPs).
  • And more.
Free technical assistance every step of the way

Participating businesses work with Waste Wise to identify pollution prevention projects, chemical alternatives and equipment upgrades. Waste Wise also helps businesses apply for funding, identify matching fund sources, and submit pre- and post-project documentation.

Care for employees, the community and the environment

The Business Pollution Prevention Program helps businesses make positive changes that can improve indoor air quality and reduce employee, customer, community and environmental health risks. It can also help minimize hazardous waste fees and energy costs.
